The new Calibre 3200
This year, Vacheron Constantin released seven new watches under the Harmony collection. All limited editions, these watches represent the pinnacle of Vacheron watchmaking.

Harmony Ultra-Thin Grande Complication Chronograph
The Harmony Ultra-Thin Grande Complication Chronograph is, as VC puts it, the "flagship" model of the Harmony collection. A limited edition of 10 pieces, the watch features the Calibre 3500 movement, which sets a new world record with its self-winding movement. The movement measures just 5.2mm thick alone and the case measures only 8.4mm thick. To retain a clear view of the movement, the rotor is mounted along the outer edge (see below). The R&D for the 3500 movement started in 2008 and has led to this. Gorgeous. The case is made completely out of 950 platinum and measures 42mm in diameter. It will only be available in VC boutiques.

Harmony Tourbillon Chronograph Caliber 3200
The Harmony Tourbillon Chronograph Caliber 3200 is, as the name suggests, powered by the new Calibre 3200 which has also been in the design stage since 2008. A limited edition of 26 pieces the case is carefully crafted out of 950 platinum. Back to the movement, it is a chronograph featuring a 45-minute counter. Rather than using the "all-or-nothing" system where the second hand is prone to jerking when starting, VC uses a friction technique for the lateral-coupling clutch to create a smoother transition. Rather than using the standard one-hammer design for the chronograph, the designers chose to incorporate two. Think of the movement as a better car engine. The Ford works fine, but the Lamborghini works better. The hand-winding calibre has a 65-hour power reserve and looks fantastic as well.

Harmony Chronograph
The Harmony Chronograph is a beautiful mix of old and new. Featuring a pulsometer, which measures the heart rate of a person, it was a complication originally designed for doctors. It goes to 40BPM, because if it was less than that, there could have been a problem. The Harmony Chronograph is a limited edition of 260 pieces (to celebrate the Manufacture's 260th anniversary). The case is 42mm pink gold and it has the Caliber 3300 movement ticking away inside.

Harmony Chronograph Small Model
The Harmony Chronograph Small Model features the Calibre 1142 and is a women's watch. Again a 260-piece limited edition the diamonds decorating the bezel weigh 1.2 karats. I won't spend too much time on this watch. The pink gold case measures 37mm in diameter.

Harmony Dual Time
The Dual Time comes in three versions, two for men and one for women. While the cases are different sizes, all of the watches feature the Caliber 2460DT (DT = dual time). The watch, unlike other watches that feature complicated systems to reset time displays, etc. has only one control for each, the crown. The men's versions are 40mm in diameter and are available in both pink and white gold. The ladies' model is 37mm in diameter and comes in only white gold. The men's are limited edition of 625 pieces (I do not know if this is each version or both) and the ladies' model is a limited edition of 500 pieces.
