Steinhart has a new Racetimer model, this time in brown. Their new model uses the same design as their blue version, but with, well, brown base colors rather than blue. The watch contains a Valijoux 7750 with a custom Steinhart gold rotor. The watch has both a leather strap with a butterfly clasp and a titanium bracelet that matches the case in both material and finish. The case is a good size for a pilot's watch at 44mm because it leaves a large space for a dial opening ensuring a clean and legible dial design. The watch ensures easy night viewing by enlisting the help of C3 superluminova. The movement, as I mentioned before, is a Valijoux 7750, a well known and widely used reliable movement, so not much can be said here. The watch has a tachymeter which, although rarely used, can be helpful when if one needs it, much like a rotating/divers bezel. Since the watch case is titanium it only weighs 120 grams. This is surprising because most watches with a 7750 movement are heavy due to the weight of the movement. The watch costs 890 euros or around $1,300. The price may be high, but from a good brand it is worth it.
