Two anonymous bidders bid on this watch for nine minutes, resulting in a standing ovation from the crowd where the auction was being held... Something a little different, this is not a new watch, but a new record. This new Patek Philippe sold at Only Watch 2015 (the largest charity watch auction in the world) for 7,300,000 Swiss Francs which is equivalent to about $7.26 million USD. It remains second to the Graves Supercomplication, a pocket watch that sold for $24 million USD last year. That being said, it holds the record for being the most expensive wristwatch ever sold at auction. Despite this fact, it has a steel case and a blue enamel dial, features which are hardly exclusive to this watch. The watch does however feature a tourbillon, a minute repeater, and retrograde perpetual calendar. Of course, it is a limited edition of one, but just think of everything else 7 million could be spent on. Of course, for those unfamiliar with Only Watch, each brand releases a special edition and the proceeds are donated to charity.
