New Alpina Horological Smartwatch (Blue)

Alpina's newest, they have launched a new version of their "horological" smartwatch. Maintaining the features of the past version, this new watch is presented in a mix of polished and brushed stainless steel case, a blue sunray dial, and a leather strap (with red interior lining). The small red hand (at 6 o'clock) will act as a date indicator. Interestingly enough, however, it will point to the moon (between 31 and 1) if you are in sleep tracking mode. If the second hand is displaying the date, the watch is in activity tracking mode. The small steel hand displays the percentage of your activity/sleep goal the wearer has completed that day. Interestingly enough (and this is one of the more questionable decisions, in my opinion) the watch cannot be recharged. The battery life is, according to Alpina, ~2 years. There are no charging cables, so once your watch dies you have to get the battery replaced. Of course, the battery in a normal quartz watch lasts about the same amount of time, so there isn't much of a trade-off. That being said, I do not know if Alpina's Horological Smartwatch uses a common battery, etc. so I can't comment on whether or not it will be easy to find or replace the battery when the time comes. I have listed the functions (straight from the press release) below. Overall, I like the way Alpina chose to adopt the smartwatch. Whether or not it will find success in its new form remains to be seen, however.
