Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Memovox Boutique Edition

First off, I would've liked to make some posts recently, but school's been killing me. Jaeger LeCoultre has just released their new 1970s-inspired watch, the Memovox Boutique Edition. Thankfully, they've updated it considerably (picture below). The dial is nearly identical (it looks fantastic). The case, however, has been modernized with fantastic results. It is slimmer compared to the old watch which, quite frankly, looks like a hockey puck. The new watch features the same alarm the Memovox line is known for. In fact, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 956 powering the new Boutique Edition is derived from the original movement. Though there are better methods to waking up or setting reminders, there is no denying that the technical knowledge and prowess it takes to create a mechanical wristwatch with an alarm is hard to find and still an impressive accomplishment. The bottom crown is used for setting the time and winding. I'm not sure if both the alarm and movement wind at the same time, but I would assume that turning it one direction is for the movement, the other for the alarm. The top crown is used to set the alarm (indicated by mobile disk with an arrow in the center of the watch). Turning the top crown clockwise sets the date. The watch has strap made of braided cotton (a material called "Trieste"). I don't really care what it's called, it just looks extremely comfortable. Oh, and the new Memovox Boutique Edition is a limited edition of 500 pieces, thought this was important to mention. I would've liked to include fewer pictures, but they all looked so good I thought I couldn't afford to leave any out. Right-clicking on any of the smaller pictures will allow you to open it larger. Size does matter after all. jaeger-lecoultre.com
