Hublot's New Special Addition Watch
The watch stands out. At 48mm in diameter, yellow accents on the white dial and matching (white) rubber strap. The massive crown at 2 o'clock sets the inner rotating bezel whilst the crown at 4 sets the time. The sapphire crystal is 6.5mm thick, forcing the case to be much thicker. No specs are published on case thickness but I can assume that it is much thicker than most cases, probably close to 20mm thick. The watches name is also large with five words and a number. The full name is Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Cheval Blanc Randheli. Let me explain the name. The part "Hublot Oceanographic" is, while it is not a widely used collection, in fact, this is the only watch in it. However this is how Hublot chose to categorize the watch. 4000 is the watch resistance of the watch. Yes, the watch is water resistant to 4000 meters. Why? Because it's a novelty. People want to say that they own a watch with 6.5mm thick sapphire crystal and that although they die from the pressure the watch will keep working. Finally, Cheval Blanc Randheli is the resort in the Maldives where this watch will be exclusively sold. It will not be found anywhere else in the world except for maybe one or two sale ads on watch forums, but other than that one will have to fly to the Maldives to get one. The watch is amazingly large, flashy and stands out. If one wants to show their wealth by wearing an ostentatious watch that is their choice. The watch is not my cup of tea however, especially with the size. Pictures of the watch can be found on Hublot's website here: http://www.hublot.com/en/new
