The new Alpiner 4 collection from Alpina has two new watches, a bi-compax chronograph and a GMT. Both come in a number of versions and we should expect the GMT to cost less than $2000, probably around $1000-$1500. I would expect the chronograph to go for around $2,000-$2,400 depending on the version. I will start with the Alpiner 4 Chronograph. This watch, first off, has a 44mm case which houses Alpina's workhorse bi-compax movement, the AL-860. Although I have zero idea how to use it the outer rotating bezel is supposed to be used for as a compass, hence the "36" marks (360˚ in a circle). The inner rotating bezel is for a second time zone. Pictures of all the versions are available below. Next we will briefly discuss the new Alpiner 4 GMT/24H. This watch also has a 44mm case however, the movement is brand new. Inside beats the AL-550 movement which allows the wearer to independently move the hour hand for easy time zone changes. In addition, it also has the inner rotating bezel for the GMT hand. You can see the pictures of the different versions below. Not as cool as being at Basel, but they are pretty good pictures that give you a good idea what the watches look like.
