Audemars Piguet released 17 new models at SIHH 2014. 15 of them from their Royal Oak or Royal Oak Offshore line and one from their Millenary Collection
Royal Oak Offshore
All these watches are water resistant to 100m and use the same octagonal shape that first made AP famous.
Concept GMT tourbillon
The watch is crafted out of white ceramic and titanium has a ceramic bezel, crown and single pusher to adjust the GMT wheel at three o'clock. The main and outstanding feature of the watch is the hourglass shaped white ceramic bridge that stands out against the rest of the dial. The tourbillon at 9 o'clock balances out the dial and the watch looks absolutely amazing. There will probably only be a limited number of these produced and the price is definitely going to be very high. More information and pictures can be found on their website here. My original blog post when this was first announced can be found here.
The first of 7 new chronographs released at SIHH 2014. They all use the in-house tried and true in-house caliber 3126/3840. The beautiful slate gray dial gives the watch a more casual look but some more color could be used. Pictures can be found here.
The 42mm case is made out of stainless steel. It has a beige dial with darker brown accents making the watch look like it belongs in a coffee shop. Nonetheless it was produced and released at SIHH 2014. Pictures can be found here.
Here it is, the holy grail of Royal Oak Offshore. This watch has a black dial and red accents, giving it that extra touch of color that was missing on the slate gray dial. They really hit it out of the park with this one. Pictures can be found here.
Blue dial on a blue rubber strap, rather than leather. This watch has has orange accents on the dial making a great color combination alive again. Pictures can be found here.
Made out of pink gold with pink gold hands and a black dial with a black leather strap this is a much dressier watch and unlike the others would look strange with jeans and a t-shirt. Pictures of this watch can be found here.
Pink gold with a pink gold bracelet this watch is definitely made for a suit. Click here for more pictures.
A white ceramic case and white rubber strap makes this watch hard to miss. With larger pushers and a diameter of 44mm, the first 44mm up to here, I think I will call this watch ''Great White". It has blue and red accents contrasting on the white dial. Pictures of "Great White" can be found here.
Made out of titanium it has a black dial with white and red hands. This watch is put on a black rubber strap and is 44mm in diameter again. Some pictures can be seen here.
Tourbillon Chronograph (26388PO.OO.D027CA.01)
The tourbillon chronograph can count a maximum of 30 minutes. A tourbillon is visible at 9 o'clock. If it is pictures you desire they can be found here.
This watch has a white ceramic case with a white dial and white rubber strap. The inner rotating bezel and helium escape give this watch the diver look. It is water resistant to 300m. Pictures can be found here.
Royal Oak Female Models
These watches are smaller in size and all 4 models have diamonds on them.
With diamonds rimming the bezel and a 38mm case this watch is for women. It has a steel case and a white rubber strap to match the dial. Not sure if you want pictures but they can be found here. The quartz movement has a very high level of quality and is made completely out of metal, there are no plastic parts found. It is even decorated!
Made out of pink gold rather than steel this watch is far more dressy. It still has diamonds rimming the bezel and a quartz movement. Pictures of this watch can be found here.
An automatic chronograph that I would describe as a jewelry watch. Every surface is covered with diamonds. I don't really like watches like this. Pictures of this watch can be found here.
Selfwinding is the name they gave this watch because it has an automatic movement. The watch is basically another jewelry watch but they substituted a leather strap for the bracelet covered in diamonds. Pictures of this watch can be found here.
Royal Oak Mens
There is one new mens model in the Royal Oak line. The Royal Oak offshore, the larger watches, are where the mens models are more likely to be found.
This watch has a skeletonized dial, well it actually has no dial. It is in a 39mm pink gold case with matching bracelet. Pictures can be found here.
One new model can be found in this collection. Just one, they focus more on the Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore models now.
Minute Repeater (26371OR.OO.D803CR.01)
A minute repeater with an exposed balance wheel that shares the dial opening with the dial. The pusher to activate the minute repeater is at 9 o'clock. This watch provides no water resistance. Pictures of this oval watch can be found here.
AP only released 17 new watch they all made quite a large splash. The most anticipated release this year is the Concept GMT Tourbillon. AP is one of the few companies that can actually make ideas for watches that are new and different, a reality. With their master watchmakers and impeccable design team they will continue to have success in 2014, with their old models and all 17 of their new ones.
