MB&F Legacy Machine 101 (LM101)

MB&F has long been one of my favorite brands. There is but one simple reason why. They produce watches like the Legacy Machine 101. This is the third version of the Legacy Machine, however, it is the first version featuring a movement developed entirely in-house by MB&F. Despite many new design features the MB&F LM101 still retains the DNA of older MB&F Legacy Machine watches thanks to the bridge holding the flying balance wheel, the hand set on the larger of the two subdials, the domed crystal, the movement finishing, and of course the "Legacy Machine" engraving on the dial. At the 6 o'clock position there is a power reserve indicator with a color scheme matching the main subsidiary dial. MB&F made a number of positive changes on this watch. Rather than using the same larger cases (44mm) that they used in the past, MB&F chose to decrease the size of the case to 40mm, a much more reasonable size. The watch is available in two versions: one with a red gold case and a white dial, the other with a white gold case and a black dial. The rest of the necessary information can be found here. Although I believe this is the best version of the Legacy Machine to date, it is also the cheapest. This watch is actually one of the most affordable watches MB&F makes. Sure, affordable is a relative term because the watch still costs an impressive $59,000. However, with MB&F churning out just 30 pieces a year, this watch will be an exclusive treasure and anyone fortunate enough to own one will be very proud.
