Baselworld 2014: Bell & ROSS BR03-92 Ceramic

This watch is pure functionality. It has large white hands and markers set on a black dial. The case design of this watch, which is based off of their older cockpit clocks, is commonly used by Bell & Ross. In the past they released the red radar version of the BR03-92 as well as the phantom version (blackout). This version is more classic with a new case material, ceramic. The case is 42mm in diameter and it is probably close to 50mm in length with the relatively short lugs. It will come with an automatic movement that displays the hours, minutes, seconds as well as the date. Since legibility is a big area of concern on this watch, all the hands and markers are coated with superluminova. The watch is included with two straps, a heavy-duty canvas as well as a thick black rubber strap. To match the case color they will come with a black PVD buckle. This watch is a new take on a classic pilot watch and I can appreciate the effort Bell & Ross designers put into making the ceramic case because despite common belief, they had to completely reengineer the case to make sure it would fit around the movement and still remain water resistant. However, they were able to succeed and they did a great job.
