In celebration of being named the official watchmaking partner to the Tour Auto 2014, Hublot has released the Tour Auto 2014 Classic Fusion Chrono, a limited edition of just 100 watches. This is not the first time Hublot has gotten involved with the world of classic cars. 2012 marked the 50th anniversary of the Ferrari 250 GTO and this is the second consecutive year Hublot has sponsored the Tour Auto Optic 2000. Back to the watch, Hublot may have had problems with their case making machines because it appears that they can't make watches with a diameter under 45mm. It looks like they haven't fixed them yet because this watch has a titanium case that is, you guessed it, 45mm in diameter. Inside beats the in-house HUB1143 movement that has all the features expected on a watch of this price: 59 jewels, good finishing, 42 hour power reserve, etc. The features don't stop at the movement either. The watch features a sunburst dial, a perforated strap, deployant clasp, as well as various finishes on the case. Although all these are great, the defining feature on this watch remains the bright blue, white, and red stripe. Representing the French flag this stripe starts on the dial and continues on the strap. It adds a touch of color that really makes the watch. Although I am sure we would all love to see one in real life, don't expect to find one at your local AD. Since it is a limited edition of just 100 pieces and ties to one of the biggest car shows in the world (people with cars like these have quite a bit of money), they won't be around to buy long.
